I have the same exact issue as user: andrewlazybonesx It turned out OBS didn't have permission to screen record. During the install, I did allow Keyboard Access, but I missed the window prompt asking for Screen Recording access. The window prompt was hiding behind an application in Finder. Hope this helps!
