I'm looking to convert my 8mm home movies from decades ago to digital, for organizing, editing, making available to family, etc.
But it appears I'm missing something. Running Windows 11 from my laptop, I'm connected to an 8mm camcorder that's in VHS playback mode. I'm expecting the application to pick up my feed using one Source or another, but nothing yet. I've tried Video Capture Device, Media Source, and Window Capture, plus a few others. No luck picking it up.
Do I need to purchase a dedicated Video Capture Device to be connected between my VHS and laptop for the OBS application to operate correctly? I'm fine doing that if necessary, but thought I'd confirm on this forum first. Any reliable product recommendation would be welcome as well.
