Question / Help What settings should I use for the best quality?

The best way is to run the automatic wizard, accept its suggestions, and then modify as needed. Just your CPU description and a useless speedtest result are not enough to make any suggestions without knowing what your GPU is, how reliable your connection is to actual streaming ingest servers, what applications you're trying to capture and with what method, and lots of other information as well.

If you've done that and you're experiencing a particular problem, you can upload a logfile after a streaming session and I can make suggested changes to the settings you have.

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

Also, I am using restream.io to stream to many websites. Should I just stream to Twitch, or continue using it.

Restream is fine, but the wizard won't test to it. Suggest using the same bitrate the wizard comes up with for Twitch, and use that to stream to Restream.io.

"GeForce Now" isn't a GPU, that's just the generic name for the software Nvidia ships with its cards to update drivers and provide for other features. The actual name of your card would appear in the OBS log.

With that Intel GPU you should be able to use the Intel QuickSync encoder to take load off your CPU, if you need to. Can't tell if you need to do that or not without a logfile.

There should be a streaming or recording session in the log to be really helpful. That said:

You've got the Windows 10 Game Bar and Game DVR features on. These can impact performance and should be turned off.

According to this log, your machine only has an Intel 520 card in it, which is generally not that strong for gaming and certainly not powerful to run a game and run OBS. Using the GeForce now service reduces the requirements for the game on your local machine, but it doesn't completely eliminate them-- the GPU still has to display the frames it is getting from the network-- and OBS needs to render those frames in order to capture them.

You've got your framerate set for 48fps. There is probably no good reason for this. You should set to 30fps and a base resolution of 1280x720, given your machine's specifications.

Hey just wanted to say a quick thanks to @Narcogen for helpful tips and @Wolfeter for starting this thread. I'm new to OBS and Restream and that auto config wizard did the trick for me! I previously was having problems streaming to Afreecatv.com in South Korea but after that tweak, it's working (although 30 second delay but hey, it works)

The only part that's still a little confusing (for me at least) is if I should continue to connect to the nearest server to me in US or if I should try to connect to a server in whatever country I'm trying to stream to (ex. Russia if I wanted to use VK or South Korea if I wanted to use Afreecatv.)

Thanks again guys!
