Question / Help What settings should i use for 90 fps recording?

What settings should i use for 90 fps recording? I will use the video to count frames between events in game.

This is my PC https://pcpartpicker.com/user/zautos/saved/QXYJxr so i think it can handle it. The game is running at 144-165 FPS

Cpu is overclocked to 4.4.

the monitor i'm using is 165hz and 1440p

Its been pretty hard getting 60fps 1440p out of obs (through either x264 or nvenc) at reasonable quality and without dropping frames.

I presume you want 90fps because its a measuring tool and therefore dropping frames would be unwanted

Ive been mulling over one of the new 6 core i7's. I record battlefield 4 for youtube and i know it doesnt scale well after 4 cores. So i was wondering if there was mileage in setting bf4 to only use 4 cores and then letting obs have 2 cores dedicated. Not sure if this would allow encoding to happen in x264 without maxing out my games cores like i do now with a 4790k

You have the core breakdown backwards. OBS is more likely to actually need the 4 cores.

As for settings, simple output mode, indistinguishable recording quality, software low cpu use encoder.
