What is the best configuration for using OBS during a Microsoft Teams VideoCall?

Hello, I've tried to use OBS during a simple conference call with MICROSOFT TEAMS, and it works great, registering audio and desktop correctly as expected.

I turned on camera starting a conference VIDEOcall, and while voice recording continues successfully, video recording appears jerky and lags behind the corresponding voice.

I hope I explained myself.

How can I resolve this problem? What is the best configuration for OBS to register a group videocall with Microsoft Teams?

Thank you very much for considering my request.

In the sources I have inserted:
- Screen capture;
- Output audio capture;
- Input audio capture;

How can I use Virtual Cam as camera source? I remind you that I wish to register videocalls using Microsoft Teams.

Hi @wgp123
Thank you for your answer.
I have tried as you suggest:
- I have started OBS setting Display Capture AND Audio Output Capture AND Audio Input Capture;
- Then I started my VIRTUAL CAM in OBS;
- Then I launched Microsoft Teams;
- I selected the VIRTUAL CAM OBS as my CAM;
- I started the videocall;

Although, I see that the images in the video appear jerky.

What could be the problem?

Follow these steps to select the correct camera to use in Teams:
  1. Click on your profile icon in the upper-right and select Settings.
  2. Select "Devices"
  3. In the "Camera" menu, select your camera; it will probably be called "Microsoft Camera Front"
  4. You should see a preview below of what your camera sees.

Not sure why your video appears jerky, there are many, many potential causes for this, eg, low powered pc (or Mac, not sure what you are using), trying to render at too high a quality, cam issue, etc. Maybe post a log file and some further advice can be given once your configuration can be seen. Also, just be aware that Teams downscales the video quality and what you see in OBS may be much higher quality than what actually appears in Teams when using virtual cam. I’ve seen a few threads here (and elsewhere) where many Teams users are having this problem. As of yet I haven’t seen anyone post a fix, if one even exists. It appears Microsoft is intentionally doing this to save on bandwidth capacity, which has become an issue as a result of all the extra required capacity due to COVID pandemic, but I haven’t seen any official confirmation of that, but no surprise there. I’ve heard Zoom isn’t as bad, might be worth trying that if it’s an option for you. If you have a dual PC setup you could try sharing a display capture in Teams, I believe that’s worked for some. I hope this will help you troubleshoot the problem.
