Hi!

I am now very confused about this OBS forum!

I have tried to ask about OBS crashing in Win 10 laptop, but my decent question is hidden!
When I asked about why that important question was hidden, that question was hidden! What is going on in this forum?

Please answer me, what is the correct forum to ask aboun OBS crashing in Win 10 laptop!

I am truely sorry, in cace my question was posted in a false forum.

Please answer me, what is the correct forum for questions which are about OBS crashing in normal recording use!

Thank you so much!

There is this text: " Awaiting approval before being displayed publicly." I do not get that! Why is my question post "waiting for aproval"? It is a normal, decent question? And in the next post, I kindly asked, why my post was hidden! No answer yet. I have been a member for app. one year. Never done anything harmful here. Who and why, has blocked my ask for help with the crashing OBS? Or are there too many members asking about chrashing OBS? Thank you for you kind answers! It look lika that on my own site:

This is the right place. no idea why hidden (I didn't do it).
Don't ignore the pinned post in the forums (posting OBS Studio log) when asking for help. Fully read and follow the instructions
Also, you might want to check the automated OBS Studio Log Analyzer

My initial thought was a new member... but if not... then my next thought is some automated SPAM filtering type system may be in place (and your IP address, or something ?? is triggering the system). I'm just a happy user here, in NO way involved with OBS Studio coding or this site's administration.
However, there are common first post protocols on any decently run website, usually disclosed ahead of time. Did you read and understand such instructions/warnings? (sorry, been almost 4 years since I joined, so I don't recall the process, and the current process may be different than when I joined, so I no help there).
are you being patient to allow time for first post approval to take place? [nevermind, just re-read this latest post and saw the timeline .. only waited a couple of hours... clearly not even close to patient enough... And general rule-of-thumb awareness item for life... an emergency on your part does not automatically constitute an emergency for someone else]
- though, with this post getting through, seems whatever the issue with your account is now addressed ... maybe??

I have no idea what may have been the trigger with your specific initial post. but your posts are visible now. so maybe being patient? or re-posting (following pinned post guidelines)?

As for OBS crashing while being used to screen record
1. OBS is a fairly complex compositing tool, and there are MUCH simpler, lighter resource demand tools for such simple activity as single Screen Recording (Windows OS has a native tool)
2. if you followed OBS Studio recommendation and recorded to MKV format, the recording should hopefully be recoverable up until approx time of crash. Record to MP4 ? ... your probably screwed, as the big red warning in OBS Studio told you would happen
and in case (*if*) your question might be - Is there a way to recover the content (lesson in this case) _after_ the crash? No. when OBS Studio crashed, it stopped functioning (recording). To have recorded the content after the crash, you would have had to initiate a new Recording (be that in OBS Studio or something else)
