Question / Help What happened to AMD VCE in 0.16.4?

I've been using OBS Studio 0.16.2 and using the AMD VCE encoder, but updated to 0.16.4 and noticed it missing. I tried out the H.264 AMD Encoder, but I am getting pretty bad flickering with it.

Just as reference, I am referring to this encoder option in 0.16.2:

AMD Video Coding Engine H.264 Encoder (Media Foundation)

Which has been removed in latest OBS, for unknown reasons.

Media Foundation was a hacky solution, Advanced Media Framework far surpasses it in speed and quality. The flickering you are describing has a solution in the guide @Fenrir posted - it's due to a bug in AMDs driver before 16.11.1.
