What does "overflow" mean in preview of the obs?

so once opening settings in obs, in general tab, at the "Preview" section, we have some options (e.g. hide overflow, over flow always visible and ...)

what exactly the overflow refer to?

I have heard some people talking about overflow room as well. I wonder are these 2 overflows the same? and if yes or not, what they are?

You can move sources around in the OBS preview, so they extend beyond the visible preview window. The part that's beyond is called overflow. The same with sources bigger than the preview: the part that extends beyond the preview is the overflow. If you activate display of the overflow, you will see this as diagonal stripes on the preview border.
It's just a notice that there is some part of the source that's not included in the recording/stream.

I have no idea what an "overflow room" might be.
