Question / Help What does 1080P/60 take?

Just curious what type of PC set up it would take to run at 1080P and 60 FPS on a single PC set up? I know a lot of variables affect this but I thought I would be okay:

Streaming Overwatch:
PC: i7 7700K, GTX 1080, 16gb RAM, 1GB fiber (900mb down/up)
OBS settings
Output; Encoder: Software (x264), Rate control: CBR, Bitrate: 8000, Keyframe interval: 2, CPU usage: veryfast
Video; Base resolution: 1920x1080, Output scaled resolution: 1920x1080, Downscale filter: Bicubic, FPS type: integer FPS value, Integer FPS value: 60

The above settings provide very laggy rendering in Overwatch. I reduced my scaled resolution to 1280x720 and framerate to 30 and I really good results most of the time. If I wanted to push things to 1080P and 60 FPS do I need to upgrade my hardware or use a 2nd PC or capture card?

Streaming with 8000 bitrate is excessive in the regulation of twitch and can lead to a ban. They suggest a max of 6000.

The following suggestions are assumption based on experience and reviews and also people actually testing it.

Apparently an overclocked Ryzen 7 1700 or simply an Ryzen 7 1800x can do 1080p60 on veryfast although if you care about high framerates then you might lose up to 20 fps average in certain games compared to an 7700k.

An Intel 8700k can do it while still containing a good Framerate and so can a x299 platform with an i7 7820X although going into HEDT will come with a ~$200 MB and ~$400 CPU to start with.

I would recommend you give NVENC a try, because it starts to look acceptable in 1080p60 with 5000+ Bitrate and barely taxes your System.
