Question / Help Weird Audio Chirping

So a caster I moderate for has been getting this audio chirping mid stream, I've been looking into a fix for awhile but I can not seem to find one. From the looks of it it seems random sadly. The noise he keeps getting is approximately 12 seconds into this clip https://clips.twitch.tv/admiral_bahroo/ConcernedOxKappaWealth I'll see if I can get OBS logs on the next stream that happens. He is on Windows 10 if that helps.

I have stumbled upon the same issue in 2 different streams.

This is happening to me as well. I was streaming and saving while playing a SNES game in BizHawk. I have no microphone plugged in, and the mic input was muted in OBS. I didn't have the problem while playing other games.

Nobody seems to have any explanations, workarounds, fixes... so here's just another example of it. I'd love to hear if anyone has any experience with this.

OBS 18.0.1 64-bit, running on Windows 10 Pro version 1607 build 14393.693, on an Intel Core i5 2500 CPU. Using a Realtek High Definition Audio output device (onboard). BizHawk configured to use D3D 9 for video.

I switched from x264 to nvenc and no longer seem to have the problem.
