I use Avermedia LGPLite Stream Engine and it intermittently renders the famous black screen instead of the video fed through its HDMI input.
IT SEEMS that tweaking Avermedia's configuration (via its own software) does the trick and makes the capture work again (I say "seems" now because I don't have the card here right now and can't run a test to be sure about it).
One interesting thing I've found reading the logs, looks like the frame per seconds were configured to weird 654.36 every times the capture went black screen (again, I'm unable to test it right now):
