Question / Help Webcams from multiple locations in one screen

I have seen several gaming live streamers host a livestream featuring a couple other youtubers in their live stream video. I am not sure of how to pull someone elses webcam into my obs. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

They have to stream to a place where you can pick it up-- say, an NDI feed if they are on the same local network as you, or to one of the streaming services like Mixer that uses low latency. You then add that as a browser source.

Okay! We are states away. Do you have any suggestions for which to use for the best quality without lag? I heard some use Skype too

I would use the FTL protocol for Mixer. For this on the Mac you have to use version 21.0.3, as there is a crash inducing bug when using FTL with 21.1.1.

Thank you! I will look into this and get back to you if I have any questions, if that’s okay. I also had one other question that I posted about, do you know how to have like a video playlist? I’ve tried media sources but if you do multiple videos, there’s no way to make one start after another (that I know of). I saw a lot of people use vlc but when I downloaded it, I couldn’t get it to show up as a source in obs. I don’t know if I’m downloading the wrong thing or what.

I don't know if the VLC source currently works on MacOS. In any case, the way to do it is probably to make a playlist in VLC or another player app and then do a syphon or window capture of the player.

From what I remember for the VLC module to work it needs to be a version prior to 3.x and be the same bit depth as the version of OBS you're using (64 bit on current MacOS versions).

So if I download VLC 2.2.8, do I have to put do anything besides just download the program and then it should show up as a source? The videos I saw were like plugins that you put in the obs program folder, but all I can find to download for Mac is the actual program

As far as I know, the plugin is included-- but I am not sure it is currently functional in MacOS.

Did you ever figure this one out? I am curious to know what you did.
