Question / Help Webcam won't work

I have a Microsoft Lifecam. It works, I've tested it in Skype. OBS Studio recognizes it as an input device, but no image shows up either in preview or in the stream. How do I get it to work?

This is happening in my webcam as well, a Logitech C920. I can use it in Skype, Xsplit, OBS Classic, but not in OBS Studio, as even choosing Custom Resolution won't let me change the Video Format, since it shows in red, and I can only choose "Any", not MJPEG. I'm well aware of the Windows Anniversary update issue and that you must choose MJPEG, and since the webcam works fine on any other software, I find it weird I can't use it in OBS Studio. This has forced me to use XSplit, which isn't my preference.

Here's the log file.

Oh, I tried applying a custom resolution and that fixed it. So the problem must be with the device default option in OBS Studio.
That's something to look into then. I'll try to make sure the developer sees this, but I can't make any promises.

As a workaround, you could probably disable the new Frame Server behavior if you really wanted to use OBS Studio, and you only ever use your camera with one application at a time. All the same, I'll try to bring it to the developer's attention.

I'm pretty sure I've done the registry edit that disables the FrameSever stuff, otherwise I don't know how it would work in Skype, etc, all these programs, and not in OBS Studio. Curiously, Logitech's own webcam software doesn't properly use it (only sees black in preview, when I take a photo it takes it in B&W, upside down, and in tiles? weird), but I find it odd others can use it just fine. Thanks.
