Question / Help Webcam not activating

So, to make things short, I recently moved and now that I'm in my new place and setting up, and once I go into OBS, the webcam fails to activate. After checking the log, I do find the following line

08:50:55.329: Webcam: Video configuration failed

Below are also some screenshots of OBS. I also found that it works once I make a new source with the webcam, but I have a bunch of scenes where the webcam is sized and positioned differently and I'd rather not have to replace each individual one.

This is OBS Studio with a webcam only scene I use for vlogs and other random things. This scene has normally worked.

This is the properties window of the webcam source. I mostly have this because FPS and format are red, which is not normal.

The driver is up to date and the webcam works with other programs and it does work when I make a new source with the webcam, which I find weird as to why it only works like that. Also, the resolution's so small for a 1080 webcam because it captures 1080p, but not even 30 fps at that resolution. With 640x480, it atleast does 30 fps with the occasional times it does 60. It's a weird webcam that seems to not use constant fps for any reason, even though it's not auto focus or anything.

The major issue is why it's not working with this source. A log is included and so far, I have yet to find a viable answer.

I tried that since that's what I thought was going on. This is what it gives me. I can't select the greyed out option leaving only the highlighted one and it still isn't loading properly unless I make a new source with it. I even plugged it back into the old USB port I had it in.

If you already created another one instance of the camera delete it (device in use error may occur, always use Add Existing). When you switch USB port - device name are grayed but if you plug-in cam before start obs - you can select "new" cam from Device list (other name is still grayed, not active). It works for me. Source has feed again. You can try some virtual cam to check all things, but this is require additional software to be installed.

Can you post new log (where you plugged cam in right port and trying to record at least something)?

I did check to make sure that I added only existing sources and after double checking, I don't have any scenes that have a second source for the webcam. Even double checking the video capture device list and only the webcam shows up with no duplicate. I've always used add existing when needed. OBS was off when the port was switched and I've restarted it any time I was changing any settings on the webcam. And as I said, the current source does not have any feed, but when I make a new source, it works just fine.

And the log I have posted already is the log when I put the webcam into the old port it was in before. I'm pretty sure I still have the log from before I moved it back to the old one, but they say the same thing when it comes to the part where the webcam should be activated.

In that log you got:

Webcam: data.GetDevice failed

It doesn't matter on my sys where I'm plugged my cam - I always can replace it. In the Device list I simply choose new device "name" and it works. Even virtual cams can replace the hw device. All appear in the scene as it was before no changes.

And here is my log (attached) from this attempt (same error, that was resolved without restart or any additional move)

Yeah, that's part of the problem; I can't select any other device. It gives me the greyed out option and the highlighted option and that's it. I can't select the greyed out one so I use the one it highlights. I've ran through these before and it loses me when it comes to the fact that making a new source works. So at this point I might as well make a new source. Sorry, but I'll just have to figure this out the next time it happens.

Don't waste the time! You can reproduce it! Plug you cam in different port! Grayed option already selected for me - so there is only one option - is to select not grayed device name when I clicked drop down list.
