Webcam causes obs to drop frames when enabled

Not sure if there's a fix for this, but nothing on the internet seems to give an accurate solution. So whenever I enable my camera on stream I lose about 30 fps from my overall game. The moment i turn it off everything goes back to normal. It's weird. Only happens with my DSLR camera and not with my C922 Pro camera. The problem isn't my stream, it's in game frames. Is this normal? I used video capture and I use EOS Utility and the capture method from within the OBS properties.

Specs are:

12700k
ASUS ROG 4080
64gbs ram
Upload about 40Mb/s
Download about 450Mb/s

Any insight is appreciated.

What are you doing for real-time hardware resource (CPU, GPU, Disk I/O, network, etc) monitoring?

And your title says one thing, your description indicates the opposite (camera vs DSLR)

assuming title is wrong, and it is just when using EOS Utility, that ..could.. make sense if your system is at the limit with webcam, and pushed into overwhelmed status when using EOS Utility.

Side note: you've read the EOS Utility FAQ, and recognize its limits, right? Depending on model of DSLR, that USB connection is only USB2, meaning limited resolution. If not latest recent model Canon DSL (and even then) getting full resolution capture requires using HDMI and HDMI capture adapter (with challenge of getting a clean HDMI output, which depends on model/firmware/camera settings)
