Question / Help Webcam and mic conflict

Hello,

I am having a problem with my webcam and mic... the problem is that my mic becomes muted/crashes when I have my webcam as a source. If I delete the webcam source the mic will work again, but to get the mic to work I have to go into recording device properties - advanced and change the quality to CD/DVD depending on what was selected at the time of the mute/crash. i can also disconnect the usb cable from the bottom of the mic and reconnect it and this also fixes the mute/crash of my mic.

Looking at the log files it seems to be something to do with audio buffering or what happens just after. The log file below is the log of the mute/crash with the webcam as a source. At 14:32:53.777 of the log is when the mute/crash happens.

After 14:32:53.777 the webcam was removed from the scene. Although at 14:55:12 I started a recording without a webcam source, but added a webcam source during the recording (which caused my problem to happen again). At 14:55:27 it says that the video capture device failed but in the recording the webcam is still being recorded and the audio is what is not being recorded...

Move one of the devices to a USB 2/3 port, if both your Cam and Yeti are running on USB 2 it's probably overloading the bus causing the mic to drop out.

Both my cam and mic are connected Via 3.0. Although I have switched out one device to 2.0 to see if this cured the issue. Unfortunately it did not cure it.

Alright try this.

Go to your Recording Devices in Windows and RIght-click disable Microphone (HD Pro Webcam C920), also restore your defaults on the Webcam Source

Disabling the webcam audio was one of the first things i did, and it didn't work

I have just figured out that the issue is definitely outside of OBS... I have opened up LGS to activate the webcam and had recording devices open too, and after a short time the mic stops picking up audio...

i will have to search for the cam and mic conflicting rather than OBS and the cam...

I had a similar issue trying to use a logi web cam and usb3 hdmi at the same time, when I moved the usb3 hdmi capture off my 7 port hub and plugged it directly to the pc my issue was solved. I believe this was an overload on the usb buss possibly.
