Web Cam is square instead of rectangle even when 1920x1080

I have started using obs recently and found that my vga webcam on my laptop comes out square and when I try to display it I tried what others have recommended like changing it to 1920x1080 and when I do that the webcam just goes black
Can Somebody Help me?
