I am new to OBS, but was introduced to it by a family member who said that you cannot watch the captured video without posting it first, is this true or not because I am a youtuber and this poses a problem for me. If you can watch the captured video before posting how do you do that?

Open it in a media player like any other video file on your computer. We recommend using VLC or MPC-HC.
