Hi!
I have checked several forum posts before i have been posting this but i want to make sure that if i want to increase the quality of my stream that i have to upgrade my processor if i want to increase the quality of my stream.
If i use the x264 encoder i get a lot of skipped frames due encoder lag, even if i use the very fast setting.
If i use NVENC i get less problem with skipped frames but the quality is lower.
Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/Jxy43S5e (Ignore the second and third recording, i messed up those, the first is the x264 and the last is the NVENC)
My internet speed is 100/100 so that should not be any problem.
Thanks in advance

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
[x264 encoder: 'streaming_h264'] preset: veryfast

The cpu is the problem here, The only way you'll be able to stream with this in x264 is using ultrafast/superfast depending on the game you play. I had a 2500k and changed it recently for a ryzen. I was able to stream old game and some LoL. This is not a streaming cpu and 2500k are getting saturated pretty quickly since windows 10.

Close everything except your game and obs, no AV, no browser, no twitch etc.

Ohterwise nvenc in your only option unless you have access to quicksync which is a little bit better than nvenc but less than x264

Okay thank you so much for your reply! Any certain cpu you would recommend? What would be the minimum specs of a cpu to stream modern/new games?

You'll need to change your whole computer. Depend on your budget. Only AMD Ryzen 1700 or better offer streaming and gaming at the same time without lagging and have a good stream quality.
