Question / Help Voice turns "robot" after streaming for 4 hours

Found out I had this in the wrong section, so posting it here :)

Hi,

After getting my new audio setup, I seem to get a "robotic" voice after streaming for 4 hours :/

This issue started after I got my new audio setup and keeps occurring when my stream has been running for a few minutes over 4 hours, strangely enough.

This is my new setup:

Microphone: Shure SM7B
Preamp: DBX 286s
Interface: Focusrite Scarlett 2i4

I have never had any audio issues before in OBS, and it only started happening when I switched to the equipment above.

The problem only occurs when I have been streaming for 4 hours in OBS, but will then also affect the mic audio if I use it other places, like Discord.

Seems like the problem is linked to OBS, as it only happens when I have been streaming for 4 hours.

I have tried to solve this problem for a while now, but nothing seems to work and I have gotten to a point where I am clueless to what is causing this.

I am getting the same issue in OBS and OBS Studio.

If you watch the end of my vod(04:07:00), you can see and hear what I am talking about :/

You can also see that it happens right as I cross the 4 hour mark of streaming and this seems to be consistent.

Fun thing to note is that a friend called me on steam, while this was happening and the issue went away, but returned when the call was canceled.

I hope someone might know what could be causing this :(

Sincerely

Hey! I have this EXACT same problem. I am also running the Shure sm7b and a focusrite interface. Have you been able to fix the issue or no? I'm sorry I can't provide a fix. You are welcome to DM me on twitter if you want to talk more privately/in depth about this issue. @TheFrostPrime

The person I was talking to at Focusrite was able to replicate the issue, but not able to solve it. He eventually gave up lol.

I am currently trying to get mine replaced with another brand :(

This is precisely why I avoided the Focusrite Scarlet for my recording ventures. I instead opted to get the Behringer UMC204 HD, which is cheaper, has more features, and seems to run a lot smoother. It also seems to be of a better quality.

I understand people are uneasy with Behringer because, at one point, they used substandard components in their devices - some of which blatant ripoffs of other devices - but since they acquired MIDAS, their hardware has been pretty top-notch.

I just recently had a 24-hour live stream, and never once ran into issues.
