VLC Source Not Respecting Source Video File Aspect Ratio

Hi all,

When adding a new video to a VLC source, the video is added stretched and not at the original aspect ratio of the source video. I can go in to change this, but Shift-resizing the video means I'm guessing what the original aspect ratio is.

I'm also trying to add these videos near-to-live - they are submissions from the audience. They're typically vertical videos - I assume the VLC Source is trying to replicate the default ratio for the stream?

Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

Most likely it's how you have your VLC Source bounding box set up in your scene.
Right-click the source in the Sources list, go to Transform->Edit Transform. Set a Bounding Box Type (normally you'll want Scale To Inner Bounds, it sounds like you're on Stretch To Bounds), then set the size. This should 'lock' the source in place too, making setting up a layout easier.

Thank you for the response.

I've just tried that with no effect. The Bounding Box Type by default is set to 'No Bounds'. When set to 'Scale To Inner Bounds' the video now just scales down to the bounding box but retains the incorrect (squished) aspect ratio.
