Question / Help VLC Source / Force rtp over rtsp?

Hello all,

i am new here. My name is Alex, 40 years old from Germany.
I have a problem playing rtsp sources in OBS. The stream from my IP-Camera produces heavy artefacts on movement in OBS when i integrate it as a VLC source.

I figured out that artefacts are gone and everything looks fine when i enable "rtp over rtsp (tcp)" in VLC. The stream looks perfect in VLC, but this has no impact on displaying in OBS.

Is there a way to force "rtp over rtsp (tcp)" in OBS VLC sources?

Thanks for your help :)

I am sorry to say, but no. It should be possible however via settings in your router, but i am not enough of an admin.

From a quick glance at the VLC source code, rtptcp://ip:port should work
Hi friends, I've the same issue.. I don't know why OBS love use UDP instead of TCP, this createdm me unbelievable lags, and useless result.
On VLC we can set "rtp over rtsp (tcp)" as said, but doesn't have any effect on OBS, still use UDP, I've sniffed packets.
There is any bless way to tell OBS to use TCP? Thank you a lot
