Hi
Been using obs as stand alone and virtual camera for a while, needed to change from Mac Pro to macbook pro and virtual camera doesn't seem to work now, press the button but nothing happens, have latest version so not sure what to do, thanks for any help.
I'm assuming this is the critical line in the log..
[mac-virtualcam] [macOS] VirtualCam DAL Plugin Installation status: (null)
have attached full log as well.

[SOLVED] Apple M1 Silicon OBS 27.x Virtual Cam not shown / not clickable / not executable

For months now I've been trying to solve the problem with the virtual camera that isn't working. So far without success.

When I updated to OBS 27.x, the virtual camera stopped working. I couldn't click it either. Maybe you have the same problem and have to work with OBS 26.0.2 and the Virtual Camera Plugin in Rosetta on M1 like me?

This workaround helped me and I am very happy to finally be able to use the full power of the M1 processor

It took the following steps:

1. Create a new account on your Mac
2. Start OBS 27.x on this new account
3. Place your camera on the scene
4. Start the virtual camera (should work now)
5. Exit the virtual camera
6. Switch back to your first account.
7. Start OBS 27.x
8. Activate the virtual camera (should work now).

Cheers, Heiner

I'm having this same problem, or more specifically the virtual camera doesn't appear in the popup menu in Zoom. I can click it and start the camera but it's not an option in Zoom. Do you think your workaround might help? I would try this but I don't know what you mean by creating a new account on my Mac?

Had the same problem recently with OBS on my MacBookPro. At first, I believed that these steps worked for me but I also chose to upgrade to OBS 30.0 while in the new account/profile.

Looking at the macOS compatibility notes on at the URL listed below gives me reason to believe my issue may have started when I upgraded to macOS Sonoma 14.x as I was also only running OBS 28.x. Seems that OBS 30.0 is compatible with mac OS 14 whereas OB 28.x is not. See...
