Tested only to zoom and Discord. The "blinking out" is visible in the local preview of zoom or discord and to remote viewers, but it does not show in the OBS Studio screen. The screen goes black for a fairly short fraction of a second, then resumes.
Playing around with starting order doesn't seem to matter. I prefer starting OBS and getting it set up before I start zoom or Discord, so that's most of my tests.
