Virtual Audio Cable not working on Google Meet?

I am using a Virtual Audio Cable, and I am using OBS's audio as the input. I set the input to Desktop Audio, and I play a sound through Google Chrome. I'm also connected to the Google Meet meeting on the same Chrome. I can hear the sound, however, it doesn't play on the meeting. Anyone knows how to fix this? When I play the sound through Audacity, it works fine.

So you have, in order of signal flow:
  1. Chrome
  2. Desktop Audio
  3. OBS Source
  4. OBS Monitor
  5. Virtual Audio Cable
  6. Google Meet
Correct?

1-2 work because you can hear it in your speakers?
5-6 work because Audacity gets to the meeting?

If so, then we're left with 3 and 4.

For 3, can you see Chrome's audio in OBS's meter, in addition to hearing it?
For 4, what do you have in the Advanced Audio Properties and in Settings -> Audio -> Advanced?

I can see Chrome's audio in the meter.
And in Advanced, I have this:

Hmm... I assume that Desktop Sound is where Chrome comes in? And you said that that meter works.

What if you switch the Monitoring Device to a direct physical output? Do you hear it in that? (likely twice because it's already going there directly, in addition to OBS, or you may even get continuous feedback, but that's enough to confirm that the Monitor works)

It seems like it's not monitoring, even if I play it through Audacity.

I'm...not imagining a flow diagram out of that one. Can you draw it? Or at least list it in detail like I did above?
I'll try.

1. Chrome tab sound
2. OBS source
3. OBS monitor
4. Virtual Audio Cable
5. Google Meet open in Google Chrome

I've also spotted that when playing the sound through a different browser, for example, Firefox, it doesn't play on Google Meet too. But for some reason, when I record the Virtual Cable Audio through Audacity, it records just fine.

Actually it works through Firefox, but I am dumb and I did not change the monitor output back to the cable
So...did you solve it completely? Or is there still something between 3 and 5 in your list that doesn't work?

I did. I think it could not play audio through Chrome because I had a Google Meeting tab open there, and it would probably echo the audio, and therefore cause feedback.
