I simply can't get OBS to "finalise" videos I record. I record videos varying from 2 to 4 hours in length, but it happens even with 40 minute recordings. The end file is all kinds of fucked up.
The thing is, I want to record lossless, meaning CRF 0 with x264. My hard drive is more than capable of writing that fast, but any file that comes out can't be re-encoded humanely in TMPGEnc, and avidemux also usually aborts encoding at some point with an error.
I googled the issue, and found that it's apparently a problem with the mp4 container. People suggested using flv, but I just tried that to no avail. The result was exactly the same. Normally, I'd just give OBS Studio more time to finalise the recording, but it just doesn't seem to do anything. All I do is click "Stop Recording", then it does something for two seconds, and that's it.
I use OBS Studio 17.0.2 (64-bit) on Windows 8.1 64-bit. My CPU load usually doesn't go above 12% and I already tried NVENC as an alternative to a software encode with x264, which didn't solve the problem, sadly.
Here's the log. Though the folder is named Blackmagic Capture, I'm not currently using my Blackmagic card, I did a normal Display Capture. The result is always the same, corrupted video file.
