I am using a Canon Vixia HF G50 camcorder, a MacBook Pro, an HDMI Video Capture device, and OBS to live stream for my church. I have the camcorder connected to OBS. It recognizes the camera as a USB camera under "sources," but the video from the camera will not come up on the preview.
I've confirmed that my camera and video capture device are supported by OBS. The only thing that shows up in the preview window is colored bars or a black screen, depending on which settings I use. I've messed around with my settings and preferences and I can't get it to come up. It works for my computer's webcam, but not the camcorder.
How do I get my video from the camera to come through OBS so I can stream?
