Question / Help Video taking up WAYYY too much space than it should.

When I record videos, they tend to take up TONS of space. When I record for about an hour, the video tends to take up about 20 gigs. When I finish recording, my computer can't even load the video and the video gets corrupted. Just recently when I tried to record like a 30 second clip, the video took up about 178 mb, which does NOT seem normal. Any leads for a possible fix?

Check your recording settings in Settings->Output. If you use CBR and set an output bitrate of 50000, you will get files that large.

Okay, thanks! With that said, what is a good bitrate to use? Im currently only on a 2500 bitrate.

For recording, switch to simple output mode and in recording quality set an appropriate quality, such as high quality or indistinguishable quality. The better the quality, the larger the files. CBR with Bitrate 2500 is for streaming and results in small files but somewhat poor quality.
