Question / Help Video stutters when recording but game doesn't lose fps, any way to fix this without upgrading PC?

Hi, I was just wondering if there was any reason why my recorded videos stutter however any game will not lose any frames when playing and recording them and it just seems like the video is the only one that is losing any frames.

I also think the stream will also stutter if I was going to attempt to stream.

I have recently switched from OBS Classic to OBS Studio and remember that when I streamed the stream was indeed watchable and didn't stutter but that was a few months back and I don't think anything has changed and have followed a useful guide on how to setup OBS Studio for me to be able to produce watchable videos and streams however I could be wrong.

So my question is do I need to play around with some of the settings in order to have at least 30 fps videos without some stuttering going on or would I need to just upgrade my PC entirely?

Your video card can't keep up.

And a GT740 means you're basically wasting the potential of your 4790k

So basically just upgrade my video card and I should be good to go? I only got a GT740 as I was on somewhat of a budget and needed to upgrade from the one I had previously.

Many thanks for the help though, much appreciated!
