I've been using OBS for several months with a Logitec HD webcam and it works great. However, now I'm trying to use a Canon Vixia R800 via the Canon's HDMI output and the video is stuttering most of the time, sometimes even freezing. I'm using a Hornettek model hgb-013 HD video capture device to connect the Canon to my Omen laptop. So, the Canon connects via HDMI to the Hornettek which then connects via USB 3.0 to the Omen laptop.
My laptop has 12GB of RAM and an Intel i7 7700HQ CPU. I'm using Windows 10 Home edition and OBS version 25.0.8 64 bit. The video capture input is set to USB Video Device and is running on the default settings which is full 1080HD at 60FPS and no buffer, though I've tried it with buffer, too.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the video to stop stuttering?
