Question / Help Video Recordings freeze randomly (with log, please help)

Hello,

when i use OBS Studio to record gameplay, the recordings seem to freeze randomly. Sometimes, there is no freeze at all in the recorded gameplay, and sometimes there is. The freezing itself can last until the video ends or for example 1 minute (the audio continues normally, just the video is frozen) - its completely random too.

Another problem i might seem to have is, that (when playing FPS games like Overwatch) my FPS drop (just in the recording, not in the game itself) when i do rapid movements. How could i fix that or what may be the problem?

1. Please update to 19.0.2
2. The AMD RX480 isn't a very powerful GPU, and when you use AMF on it, it rapidly deteriorates in performance stability on the AMF side.
3. In Overwatch in particular, you should turn off Dynamic Reflections.

So what to do? Use the x264 encoder instead of AMF. You have 8 cores and no game out there uses those 8 cores, and the x264 encoder will look better at any streaming bitrate then AMF... plus your performance issues from using AMF will go away, and your frame rate in game might actually go up.
