Video not working, only audio

Can someone help me? I've been having this issue for days, on both my computers and also I asked a few friends if the same issue was happening and they also had the same problem.

A few days ago, I recorded a bunch of videos because I do montages for Youtube and I reviewed every single video and it was just fine, everything was working until like 3 days ago all the videos stopped working: it was only showing the audio of the video, the screen was standing still. I would appreciate if someone could help me, I've been looking for an answer for so long and I didn't really want to install another app and record all the videos again because they are just too many.

What program are you using for playback? If it's the default Windows "Movies and TV" app, that's a common problem where either the video or audio will be 'lost' due to poor codec handling.

I'd recommend downloading VLC, a free and open-source video player that works reliably. https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Yes, I use VLC and I changed it to 3 different programs but nothing worked...

You're not following. I tried recording a random video on 2 different computers and still didn't work! I guess it's the program's fault, not mine!
