Video media source does not Restart playback when source become active + other weird behaviors

Hi,

I have a video media source that is supposed to restart when source goes from hidden to visible. Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and I'm not able to understand why. I'm doing this with other media sources, some work, some don't. They're all mp4, have the same settings in OBS. The only thing that i can see is that the sources that are not working are constantly showing in audio mixer, but does not provide any sound according to the volume indicator. For sources that are working, they do not stay in the audio mixer.

I've been trying to find a solution for hours and cannot figure it out.

Does someone have an idea ?

Did you ever get this to work? I am having something of the same problem with both Media Source and VLC, just not playing 13-second video clip, from Replay Buffer.

Came across this thread as I was having a similar issue. I can see it's not been active for over a year but for anyone else who may happen across this my issue was basically exactly what OP described and we did find a solution. In our case the issue was that we had installed an Aitum plug-in to do 16x9 & 9x16 streams simultaneously. We had dropped our 9x16 streams a little while ago but all the 9x16 scenes were still in our scene collection so we could get into a situation where the video would start playing in the 9x16 scene because it was linked to a 16x9 scene but it never switched away from that scene when I was switching to a new 16x9 scene. This caused the audio to stay in the mixer and then it wouldn't recognize the source as being activated when the 16x9 output was switched back to the scene with the video as it had been active in the 9x16 scene the entire time.
