Hello,

I noticed that during a video playback on OBS Studio the sound is lost. Any ideas? It's an mp4 file 30mbps. Currently using 0.15.2 version. Framerate of the video playback also drop dramatically when streaming.

I am running a Dell n5110 laptop which could potentially is unable to run it. But thought of asking.

Use VLC to check your recordings, the windows media player or Windows 10 video app do not support the default audio format of OBS.

Also post a log for setting recommendations.

H4ndy, I tried using VLC as the playback media but stiil there no sound being recorded.

The mic/aux meter shows that there is audio input and the green bar is moving, but when after playing back the file (in VLC too) there is no sound at all

I am having this same issue, added my videos to the scene they start playing in the preview just fine I see the audio bar showing audio for the videos in the mixer but no audio is coming through.

Ok, I figured some stuff out with this but I do think there is still a bug.

I had to open the advanced audio properties and enable the tracks for the media source apparently they are disabled by default, I still can't hear the audio from the videos in the preview but it does come through on the stream and in recordings.
