Video lagging for no reason

Hi,

When I record on my usual settings, the video is lagging like crazy. I shows on OBS that I'm only using 3% of the CPU and it also shows that it's recording in 60fps, but the preview is lagging and the video is lagging. The playback is at like 1fps. Any ideas?

I tried lower the bitrate to 1000kps just to make sure it wasn't my settings and it's still happening.

mismatch screen refresh rate to screen capture (144 vs 60; not an even multiple of each other... never recommended)

With all those filters/effects, I can't imagine that 3% CPU is accurate/correct... if that from OBS Stats? if yes, that number is not really meaningful (without a much more in-depth understanding of your overall system) use Task Mgr/Performance/Resource Monitor instead

was about to go further, but see you are using custom encoding settings, and ignoring big warning about recording to MP4... an issue covered so many times in this forum I won't irritate myself to repeat... so stopping here ... as I don't help those who record to MP4

I won't go into detail... but most likely your custom encoding settings are inappropriate for your system and its existing workload incl GPU
