Video encoder not working and leaving videos corrupted

I recently swapped Graphics cards from an AMD R9 390 series to a Geforce RTX 3050 because my R9 couldn't use its video encoder. After swapping and using the NVENC HEVC encoder this gpu uses, I haven't had any popups but after recording It would be a blank file that only plays audio in VLC. I have looked at the log files and the only thing I've seen is that AMF isn't supported, I could be wrong but I thought that wouldn't be necessary with an nvidia gpu but I could be wrong. I have my gpu driver up to date so I'm unaware of the problem.

Probably, your VLC player is not up-to-date. Also, you may try "mpv player".

To make sure that recording works OK - you can make new Profile, new Scene Collection, specify encoder in the main menu File > Settings > Output. Add image source to the scene (to be able to see at least something in the recording, not just black screen) and click Start Recording button. After few seconds click Stop Recording. Recordings can be found under the main menu File > Show Recordings.

Okay so I was wrong, everything works in VLC, but for some reason before then I was able to use the remuxs on other programs like my video editor. Now my editor says the remux is corrupted. Also the thumbnails for both the mkv and mp4 don't exist at all like they did before. I just looked in davinci as well and it can't take my recordings anymore at all, but I can see them in VLC
