video-capture-usb-stick can no longer be used

I am using obs 27.2.4 with Windows 11. Up to now everything worked fine. But when I plug in a video-capture-usb-stick and try to add it as new video recording device,
the display freezes and it takes several minutes until the list of selectable cams us displayed and the usb stick is not selectable.
I have already reset obs by deleting all folders from the menu setup folder. Does anyone have an idea?

Make sure you have the right driver installed, and that it is working (unrelated to OBS). I recommend audio and video input troubleshooting be done with OBS not even started. Once you have a known working video input, THEN, try and add to OBS. And then post a log per the pinned post in this forum
