Video Capture card window shows "Not Supported" when feed is from USB-C laptop output

The Video Capture works perfectly when the laptop (source for Video Capture Card) has a standard HDMI port and the HDMI cable is connected directly to the laptop. We tried using a newer laptop that only has USB-C ports and used a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable to connect that laptop to the HDMI cable (which is connected to the Video Capture card). In this configuration, the Video Capture window in OBS shows "Not Supported" and the window is otherwise black. How can we make this work with the USB-C port on the newer Laptop (source for Video Capture Card).

Sorry, yes should have included that info. The image shows on the projector (Monitor) with both HDMI and USB-C inputs so the Video capture card pass through works fine. The video capture output (via standard USB 3) to the OBS computer works when the video source laptop has HDMI out. The issue is when a video source laptop with USB-C out is used via a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable.

For any of you with a similar issue. I have done further testing and it turns out it is not the USB-C to HDMI adapter at fault. It appears to be the resolution of the OBS Video Capture settings. If the input resoultion is higher than the OBS setting it will not display. Either reduce the source resolution (i.e. to 1080p) or increase the video capture resolution setting to match that of the input. This thread can be closed.
