Question / Help Video Bitrate.

First off I'd like to say, if I posted this in the wrong spot. Feel free to move it to the correct spot, or tell me.

I'm using the basic settings instead of advanced. But I have my bitrate set to 2400. For some reason, OBS feels the need to go higher then that. I started up a stream and saw it up to at least 2600-2700. I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem. I'm not really smart when it comes to the different settings used in this program, would be nice if ya'll could help me out.

I've enabled the "Advanced Encoder Settings" And set it to veryfast. Cause I'm using that in OBS. and its sitting still around 2560 -2590.

The Bitrate OBS shows is audio and video bitrate combined. So if you use for example 160 for audio it will show up in that number.

If you want the total to be 2500, set video to 2500 - audio bitrate. So if you're using 160kbps audio, video'd be at 2340kbps. Even then, that's an average. The encoder can still fluctuate a bit.

Constant Bitrate(CBR) is not constant, it fluctuates, the reason for this is a lot to explain in detail for how little it matters. Basically if the encoder deems a scene needs more bitrate to maintain quality it will give it some but it is usually at most 400Kbps and only for a few seconds. Also, as the person above stated, you need to factor in audio and video when determining your bitrate.

Video = 2340
Audio = 160
Total Stream output = 2500

It will go above and below 2500, that is one of the reasons why they say it should never exceed 75% of your upload.

I accidentally (mouse did it :) changed my advanced settings where CBR and other selections are. Which one should I set it on. A newbie and I also keep getting an event saying I have too low video frame rate of 16.37. I had AT&T replace my modem but I really think it's because I screwed up my advanced settings somehow. Is there a screen shot of what they should be for video and audio? Thanks. (And I'm not going in there again once I fix it!)
