I am brand new to OBS, using it in my IT person's absence (maternity leave) to create our school's news show. Rather than try to live stream the show, I pre-recorded video segments (mp4 files) and added each as a media source in separate OBS scenes to tie them together, add our logo and scrolling text, etc.
I am struggling with the audio. When I preview the video/audio in OBS there is popping and crackling that is not present when I preview the video outside of OBS. The noises do not show up in the final recording, but they are instead replaced by pauses and lagging. The only audio input I have is from the pre-recorded mp4 files, not the computer's mic.
I have tried compensating for lag by adding a sync offset of up to 500 ms in the Advanced Audio Properties, but the video and audio are not consistently off.
Here are the properties of one of the pre-recorded videos itself:
Interestingly, I have one submitted video I am using that has no audio or lag issues. Here are its properties:
Details:
I am using OBS 25.0.4 (64 bit) on a Dell laptop with an i5 processor running Windows 10.
Video Bitrate: 3500 kbs
Audio Bitrate: 128
Audio Sample Rate: 48 kHz, stereo
Rate control: CRF = 23 set to Ultrafast
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated!
