VHS taping starts with color and switches to black and white

I am using OSB Studio 31.0.3 with Windows 11, transferring VHS tapes to digital format with a Clear Click 2USB. The recordings start in color but after 30 0r 45 minutes they switch to black and white. Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks

This has to do with bad tape quality, signal quality or misadjusted tape mechanics. May be too sensitive behavior from the digitizer device. Bad signal that cannot be properly recognized and digitized by the video capture device. Making sure the cabling is correct is probably the only thing you can do in addition to replace the vhs playback device.
There isn't anything that can be done on the OBS side, in digital signal processing color cannot get suddenly lost.

Thanks for the quick reply... I will troubleshoot the cables first and look to replace the tape deck later.
