VHS image split and reversed

Hi all,

I used to be able to play VHS cassettes and record them without any issue. I restarted working on my project of transferring my cassettes and now it seems OBS splits the image and reverses it for some unknown reason. At first, I thought something was wrong with the cassette but I have tried multiple cassettes in different VCRs and the output is always the same therefore I think the problem lies in the way OBS reads the video.

I have attached an image of what is shown in OBS.

Any input on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

OBS has no concept of VCRs or cassettes - it uses whatever it is given by the capture device. So whatever device you're using to capture the VHS tape is the one providing the faulty image - check the settings / physical condition of the device as this looks like the result of bad tracking.

Then the problem must be with your capture device. Try capturing with a different program.
