Question / Help Very High CPU useage

So a little background.

I was gaming/streaming on a i7 4770k processor just fine with minimal cpu usage while doing it. I recently built a new Gaming pc and thought I would use my other computer as a dedicated streaming machine.

Got it all set up, got my scenes going and everything and my old computer now uses WAY TOO MUCH cpu.

Here are the only things that changed.

1 Different Power supply
2 Running off of hd 4600 graphics
3 New installation of windows
4 Running 4k monitor on my streaming machine.

That is all that has changed.

Some things I am thinking,

1 Since cpu is also running graphics, that is making the spike in cpu usage unuseable.
2 4k monitor is stuck at 30hz so trying to stream/record at 60hz is causing extra strain on the cpu

Here is my log:

Would buying a dedicated graphics card relieve this.
Am i doing something wrong.
HELP,

This was working fine before i made it a dedicated stream machine, i just want to make my computer great again.

This is why. Medium chews up CPU like crazy. Go with fast, faster, or even veryfast (if you need to).

its something other than preset man.

thats what im trying to figure out what it is..

a 4770k DOIING NOTHING ELSE can encode at medium

i understand basics, this is not the basics... this is something different

If this is the GPU you are using "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600" then this is your problem. You need a gpu as obs uses this also even if the machine is dedicated to just encoding, hence the rendering lag in the log.

also where are you streaming to?

I was not streaming at this point. I was just getting a log for you guys and recording locally. I usually stream to Twitch and I understand the bitrate issue with twitch. 3500 is the Max bitrate that which wants. Thanks for your help. I ordered a GTX 1050 this morning. That should do the trick I hope.

You try to record with CBR and 1080p60 on medium Preset, no even a dedicated Machine with an Haswell i7 will back down with that load.

If you are not recording why would you be using a 8k Bitrate.

I use the exact same settings on my new machine, granted it is a new work, but it runs at like 20%. Now I'm not expecting it to run at 20% the old machine but it should not run 100% either. And this was just a test to get a log for you guys to examine. I didn't want to stream nonsense.

I stream 720p60 didn't catch that I had this at 1080p. Either way I think I found a solution by adding a dedicated graphics card. I will update this thread when it comes in to let you know how it worked.

I've seen some higher overload messages in 17, so i'll need to also look into if this has increased, but regardless that hd 4600 graphics is under speced for the downscaling required.
