Very bad audio quality in Pop!OS

Hi everyone,

I am on a Thinkpad E14 Gen 3 AMD Ryzen 5500 with dual boot Pop!OS and Win11.

While trying to record audio either in Audacity or OBS, in Pop!OS, I am having this jagged audio as shown in the below screenshot.

I had the same issue in Win11 too, it was fine by disabling audio enhancements in the control panel for that particular audio device. I am unable to sort it out on pop though.

Would be very thankful if someone could suggest something, its keeping me from switching to pop as I record regularly.

Never heard of Pop!OS. Others probably haven't either, so most of them will just read the title and not even open it. A bit of googling says that it's a derivative of Ubuntu that is pretty much produced, owned, and supported by one company alone, though they do accept some community contributions.

My guess, if multiple apps have the same problem, is that they messed up the Pop!OS audio system. You're probably not going to get that fixed outside of that company and whatever community they have.

If you switch to (real) Ubuntu, then the problem will likely just go away. If it doesn't, there are lots more people who know what you're talking about and won't just leave.
