Recently I experimented with high FPS stream a little bit. It turned out better than I expected. Now I play game at 144fps and stream at 72fps on twitch for the best framepacing.
However, sometimes my game drops to ~90fps during instensive fights. It's fine for me as I have a gsync monitor, but the framepacing for the stream turns ugly. So it occured to me, why not let stream FPS adaptive to in-game FPS?
Think about it, we now have monitors with variable refresh rate, streaming platforms that support variable frame rate, and encoders that output in variable frame rate. The only thing that's missing is a software that supports variable capture rate. And it seems I'm not the only one who thought of this.
What do you guys think?
