Hey

So this might be a stupid question. but im just trying to figure out how I should be running OBS to get the best overall performance not only in the recording. but also in game. (mostly Games like minecraft, warcraft. DDO)

my gaming laptop has the option to use my processed OR graphics card to run programs. and Im not sure if i should run the games on the card. and record on the processor. or game on pro and record on card. or just run both on the card.

and if I should record on the card. do i just have to tell my computer to run OBS on my card? or do i have to edit something in program settings to record of the card

My laptop specs are the following

Make: MSI
Processor: Intel core i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz
OS: W-10 home 64 bit
RAM: 8GB DDR4
GPU: NVIDIA GTX960M
(1080p)

Thank You (:

ALWAYS set obs to run on the same card as what you're trying to capture.
That means that if you're using game capture, have obs running on the nvidia.
Period.

Thanks. do i need to change anything in the obs settings? or just the regular stuff in my nvidia settings?
