Question / Help Using OBS with multiple NVIDIA cards?

I have two 980tis that I do not run in SLI for a few reasons. I would love to be able to use my secondary card almost exclusively for OBS NVENC rendering. No matter if I choose GPU 0 or 1 in the settings, only the primary the GPU activity registers usage. Is there a way to get OBS to use the secondary GPU?

NVenc uses virtually no performance since it's a separate chip on the GPU.
There will be no advantage on using a 2nd card for that exclusively.

What processor do you have?

And before you ask "Why does it matter?" most processors only have 16 pci-e lanes. If you're using two video cards, each runs in x8 mode. Running OBS or the game would be fine, but running both at once would NOT. You NEED to run in x16 mode to have enough bandwidth for everything.

Running OBS on one and the game on the other FORCES you to use a capture mode that MASSIVELY reduces system performance.
