Using OBS for live performance and recording

I'm designing a live show and I need to play two pre-recorded videos to two different screens, and make a live video recording at the same time (to be saved locally, not streamed). I need all three to trigger at the same moment. Can OBS output one video with audio to one device/port, output a second video to another device/port, and record live video and audio from another source, all at the same time, and all triggered to start together?

I've watched YouTube videos showing that OBS with the Atem Mini can send different videos out as Program and Preview, but can that set up record from a camera at the same time?

This seems like tech overkill for just needing a start trigger for three things! The project will be about 15 - 20 minutes long at most, so no need for running timecode to keep it in sync. Am I missing a really obvious straightforward way to make this work?

Thanks to anyone who can suggest anything.

Hi Ruth,

Yes, this is possible with just OBS.
  1. You want to design a live show
    1. You need to play 2 pre-recorded videos to two different screens.
      1. Media Source Plugin
      2. Right click the OBS Preview Window, Full Screen Projector, \\.\DisplayX
    2. And make a live video recording at the same time (to be saved locally, not streamed.
      1. Source Record Plugin
      2. Right click the source you want to record, Filters, Add Source Record as an Effect Filter.
This is the basic info you need to understand to make this happen.

Good luck!
