Using OBS for live interview while sharing video

I am brand new to OBS and would like to know how to set up for my use scenario. I would like to interview someone over live video and be able to start and stop video so that both the guest and myself can talk during a video pause. The final product would be a video including 3 components: 1) Myself, 2) my guest and 3) my screen share with a video. Same with the audio streams. I am brand new to this, so if you could let me know both hardware(Windows based) and software. Thanks!

I can think of a couple of ideas, but first, what will be the type of interview? Will the guest be physically in the studio or will it be a video call?
For example, if the guest is present in the studio, you will need 1 to 3 cameras minimum (general take, interviewer take, and guest take). You would also need the microphones, they can be lavalier if you don't want them to be noticeable, or condenser if you are looking for higher quality. If you have a second pc to control the video it would be good, it connects via HDMI to a TV (if necessary) and by ndi it can be captured on the obs on the main pc.

There are really many ways to get to the result you ask for, so it would be good if you share more details* to find the most optimal solution.

* Details that I think are important for the moment:
- In-person or virtual interview?
- What equipment you already have, cameras, microphones, screens, pcs?
- Reference images of what you want to achieve.

Sorry I should have mentioned that it will be a virtual interview.

Equipment in studio on hand:
  • Canon EOS 800D (not sure if I can use this but it is a great camera, same stats as webcam but probably way better autofocus/controls and has HDMI out/Mic input)
  • Logitech StreamCam 1080p 60fps
  • Windows 10 Pro PC
    • 3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium G3220
    • ASRock H87M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
    • 16 GB Ram - TEAMGROUP Elite DDR3 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1600MHz (PC3-12800)
    • 120GB SSD
    • WD Green WD20EZRX 2TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
    • ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB GDDE6 (ZT-T16620F-10L)
  • Simple Light Ring
  • Dual 24" Monitors
  • Typical inexpensive USB web conference two-ear headphones with boom microphone
Equipment for Guest: Will be limited - Most likely a laptop with webcam and headphones or phone may have better video than laptop.

@JonathanC09 Any help would be appreciated with new info added on my current equipment and that it would be a virtual interview watching a shared video. Thanks!

First of all, I extend an apology for responding so late.
Starting with the camera, if it is possible to use it as a webcam, it can be with a usb capture card, since it has hdmi output (mini-hdmi possibly) or by usb cable with the "webcam utility" that Canon has (check if that specific model is compatible)

As for the specifications of the pc, I'm not really an expert in that field but I think they're fine.

Now, I don't know if the microphone of the headphones is the best option, as a general rule they do not usually have the best quality, but to begin with they are fine.

Finally, have you already decided which sorfware you will do the interviews with? Zoom, Skype?
If you still can't decide, I recommend that you give "VDO Ninja" a try, as it allows you to capture the image of your guest as a browser source and it is not necessary to install anything since everything is via the web.

I seriously apologize for not having answered sooner.
