Using link / shortcut files in place of a "real" file reference in OBS

Good afternoon, I'm trying to change my already highly configurable setup for live sports to be even more configurable between the 3 different teams I provide broadcasts for. Essentially what I'm trying to do is change the references for certain assets in OBS such as intro videos, standings, schedule, team logos and such from a generic static file reference such as "standings.png" or "team1Intro.avi" to use file links / shortcuts.

My first attempts of doing this has OBS resolving the shortcut link to the actual physical location of the file I'm trying to shortcut.... so this isn't going to work. I'd like the file reference in OBS to point to the link / shortcut file which can be changed prior to relaunching OBS each time I start a new broadcast.

I commonly do tournaments where I automate much of this using some custom application and scripting to place the correct team image files, standings, etc into a common folder. The limitation comes in when I need to change larger video files for different intros but the general idea was to create a link / shortcut file pointing to the video files I need to use.

Thanks in advance!!!!
